SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER IN TEST 

Introduction:

At NavyaSoftware Ltd, we believe in pioneering the future of autonomous mobility. As we continue to push the boundaries of innovation, ensuring the reliability and functionality of our software is paramount. To support our mission, we are expanding our team and seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with expertise in JavaScript and Cypress to spearhead the creation of our UI test framework. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality and integrity of our autonomous vehicle software, ultimately contributing to safer and more efficient transportation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of a robust UI test framework using JavaScript and Cypress
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test strategies and requirements for UI testing
• Implement automated UI tests for various features and functionalities of our autonomous vehicle software
• Write clear, concise, and maintainable test scripts and test cases
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality test code
• Identify and prioritize test cases for maximum test coverage and efficiency
• Continuously improve test processes and methodologies to enhance overall testing effectiveness
• Investigate and troubleshoot issues, working closely with developers to resolve them promptly

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in software development or quality assurance, focusing on automated testing
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and experience with Cypress or similar UI testing frameworks
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing test automation frameworks from scratch
• Deep understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Nice to have:

• Experience with other testing frameworks such as Selenium or TestCafe
• Knowledge of front-end web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and React
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Previous experience in the autonomous vehicle industry or related fields
• Certifications in software testing or related areas (e.g., ISTQB, CSQA)
• Experience mentoring junior team members or leading testing initiatives

QA Automation Engineer

• Writing and maintaining clean, reusable, high-quality scripts that automatically test product functionality 
• Contributing to bug finding and error reporting   
• Continuous improvement and maintenance of automation frameworks/tools   
• Taking part in brainstorming to come up with new ideas and designs that improve existing features  

Required qualifications:  

• 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance Automation   
• Strong experience with API/UI testing frameworks  
• Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS   
• Deep understanding of application domain, system architecture, and testing processes 
• Strong knowledge of one or more programming languages, such as Java, JS, C#, Python, etc. 
• Familiarity with DB concepts and able to write queries   
• Experience in continuous integration tools  
• Understanding of agile software development processes  
• Comfortable with using version control systems such as Git and/or SVN
• Fluency in English, both verbal and written

Nice to have: 

• BSc degree in Computer Science or similar education  
• Experience in native mobile app testing  
• Experience in setting up test frameworks for enterprise solutions

• Experience in non-functional testing (Load, Stress, Performance, Pen testing)

Job content

As an Azure DevOps engineer you will design, build and operate Azure cloud environments for our customers.

You’ll start with drawing the architecture together with the client, sales and presales. Next you’ll build it according to the requirements you’ve discussed with the client. And under the motto: “You build it – You run it” – you’ll also operate the environment and keep improving it.

Because you do the entire chain yourself (together with your team), it brings a lot of variety in your day to day job.

You will split your time between working from our offices in Lochristi (near Ghent) and working from home.

Your background

You are an ideal candidate for this role if you have:

• 2-4 years of relevant experience in a DevOps role
• A professional level of English, with a basic understanding in Dutch (and willing to learn)
• Strong communication skills
• Good knowledge of Azure PaaS services and know how to leverage them for cloud solutions
• Strong skills in Azure networking, such as configuring virtual networks, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
• Experience in migrating and transforming existing systems to the cloud using Azure tools and best practices.
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps or GitHub and know how to use them for continuous integration, continuous delivery, pipelines, and Git version control.
• Experience in using Infrastructure as Code (ARM/Bicep) and Git source control to provision and deploy cloud resources
• Automation scripting skills with PowerShell and Azure CLI
• Problem-solving and analytical skills to handle complex challenges and issues
• Team player attitude and willingness to collaborate with others
• A drivers' license

You will stand out from the crowd if you also have:

• Experience with REST APIs and NodeJS development
• Knowledge of Terraform for cross-platform cloud provisioning
• Specialization in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) for container orchestration

Certifications are not required, but they are highly appreciated if you have:

• Azure Certification (AZ-104 or AZ-305)
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
